EB – A song in appreciation of Eric Bibb. A favourite blues singer of mine.
In the Ballroom of the Stars (Davidson/McGonigal) – This song was written against the background of the controversy surrounding the causes of Climate Change.
Sunshine Boy – I wrote this in celebration of Fathers and Sons in particular and of Parenthood in general.
Krankenhaus Blues – Krankenhaus is a German word which translates in English to Hospital. The song is meant to be a humorous look at being in hospital from a patient’s point of view.
Madeline Jane (Crass/Davidson) – This is the title track of the Album. It’s a romantic love song.
On the Plain of Armageddon – In 1962 the “Cuban Missile Crisis” brought with it the very real possibility of nuclear war. This song looks back at that time and forward from now and asks a question.
Moya's Polka – This tune is an Irish Polka I wrote for my Sister.
Scalloway – There is an old theme in many a-song. It tells of boy leaving girl in search of greener pastures only to find that the pastures were not greener. Boy then laments the loss of his love. This song is written in a Scottish style. Scalloway is a town in the Shetland Islands.
'59 Jive (Davidson/Euston) – This song is a 1950s Rock ‘n’ Roll number about three entertainment venues of my hometown’s (Brisbane, Australia) past.
Zita – In 1915 my Great, Great Aunt Zita was a young nurse serving aboard a hospital ship stationed off the Gallipoli coast. I wrote it on ANZAC Day 2010. It’s about my childhood memories of her.
Love's Just Waiting to Pounce (Davidson/MacKenzie) – This is a love song with a bluesy feel and a positive sentiment.
